About these terms

These terms apply when you use Panulat, its website, software, and services. By using them, you agree to these terms and any additional conditions for the product or service you choose.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's consent where the law allows a minor to use the service with that consent. You must also meet the requirements that apply in your jurisdiction.

If you create an account, provide accurate and complete information. Keep your login credentials confidential and take responsibility for activity under your account. Contact us if you believe someone has accessed it without permission.

License and use

Free use and supporter licenses

Panulat's core writing and planning features, including PDF and EPUB Builds, are free to use without an account. You can use them for personal writing, commercial work, or work within an organization.

Patron and the Commercial License are optional ways to support Panulat's development. A Commercial License is not required to write or sell your books. Supporter benefits are described in the relevant offer; neither supporter option includes a BookVC or PenPal AI subscription. See the License overview.

Lawful use

Use Panulat lawfully and respect other people's rights. Do not use the services for unlawful activity, interfere with their operation, misuse another person's account, or engage in behavior that harms other users.

Paid services

BookVC and PenPal AI

BookVC and PenPal AI are separate optional paid services. Each has its own plans, features, and limits. Review the relevant offer and any product-specific conditions before subscribing. The Pricing page links to the available options.

BookVC Standard trial

BookVC Standard offers eligible accounts a 7-day trial with a card required through secure card checkout. The selected monthly or yearly BookVC Standard subscription is billed at the end of the trial unless cancelled before it ends. BookVC Plus and Organization do not include this trial.

Payments and refunds

Review the price, billing period, and applicable purchase terms before paying. Refund eligibility is determined by the applicable purchase terms and Panulat's existing refund policy. Nothing in these terms removes consumer rights, cancellation rights, or remedies that applicable law requires.

Content and intellectual property

Your content

Your original writing and artwork remain yours; using Panulat does not transfer their ownership to us.

You are responsible for having the rights needed to use the text, images, fonts, and other material you bring into Panulat. Using Panulat or purchasing a supporter license does not give you permission to use someone else's work.

Panulat software and materials

Panulat's proprietary software, logos, graphics, and other materials are owned or licensed by Panulat and protected by intellectual property laws. Open-source files and third-party packages retain their respective licenses. Your use must respect those licenses and applicable rights.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains how information is used, including account information, BookVC, PenPal AI, and optional usage and crash reports. Any processing that requires your consent remains subject to the choices described there.

Third-party services

Some Panulat features use third-party services, such as sign-in or payment processing. When you use those services, their applicable terms and privacy policies also apply. Review the permissions a service requests before authorizing access to your account or information.

Account suspension and termination

Panulat may suspend or terminate an account for violations of these terms or applicable law, or for behavior that harms the service or its users. Any such action remains subject to applicable law. Contact adam@panulat.com for questions about an account restriction.

General conditions

Availability and warranties

Panulat is provided “as is,” without express or implied warranties to the extent permitted by law. Service may be affected by events outside Panulat's reasonable control, including network failures, natural disasters, or government orders. Any warranties required by law continue to apply.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Panulat excludes liability for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from use of the services. This exclusion does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded and does not limit mandatory remedies.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. Please contact us to try to resolve a concern. This does not prevent you from exercising your legal rights or seeking a remedy through a competent authority or court.

Changes and other terms

Panulat may update these terms. Check this page for the current text and review any product-specific conditions before purchasing or using a service.

These terms and the applicable product-specific conditions form the agreement for your use of Panulat. If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
